6mm basalt short fiber for asphalt concrete and cement mortar

Basalt fiber is a continuous fiber made by melting basalt at 1450-1500 degrees Celsius and drawing it through a drawing plate at high speed. Similar to glass fiber, its performance is between high-strength S glass fiber and alkali-free E glass fiber. The color of pure natural basalt fiber is generally brown, and some are golden.

  • Density 2.60-2.80 g/cm³
  • Fracture Strength >1050 Mpa
  • Elastic Modulus >35 Gpa
  • Fracture Elongation <3.5%
  • Alkali Resistance (Strength Retention Rate) >75%

Basalt fiber is a high-performance inorganic fiber known for its excellent mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, and high-temperature stability. It is widely used in asphalt concrete and cement mortar.

  • In asphalt concrete, basalt fiber effectively enhances crack resistance, fatigue resistance, and durability, significantly extending the service life of roads.
  • In cement mortar, as a reinforcing material, basalt fiber improves tensile strength, impact resistance, and crack resistance, while also enhancing toughness and impermeability.

Additionally, basalt fiber is environmentally friendly, non-toxic, and exhibits excellent compatibility with asphalt and cement-based materials, making it an ideal reinforcement material for modern construction projects.
